Sand & Love
Sand in Melbourne beaches are abrasive. Coarse. Filled with broken seashells that scratch and cut. There’s no cuddly.
Where I grew up in Perth (the other side of Australia) the sand is more white and fine. Though not like Hawaii where I’m told sand melts like butter against your feet.
After an epic day at the Beach, ZM told me “I hate sand”. For the first time I felt sad, so sad that he hated sand. That sand was stopping him from experiencing the healing joy, play, vastness and grounding of the Oceans.
This morining I held him and said, when I heard you say you hated sand, I felt so sad for you. So sad. I want you to know that not all beaches have sand that are abrasive and coarse. Some beaches have sand that are soft and gentle. We will go to these beaches so that you can feel different kinds of sand.
I want you to know this is the same for Love. Not all Love hurts you, makes you feel scared and is mean. There are many many different kinds of Love. I listed different people so that he could connect somatically to this experience. There is Love that allows you to feel safe, protected, cherished, nurtured, honoured. Kind and gentle Love. I want you to remember this and if you forget that’s ok. I will remind you. I am this Love.
For my sons, to my younger self, I love you through all space, time and dimensions. May you always remember you are worthy to recieve Infinite Love, Divine Love the same Love that you so freely give and the same Love that lives inside you always.
Love,
Char
